INGEGNO is an old school hardcore band hailing from Perugia, Italy. The band, strongly desired by the singer Giacomo and the bass player Marco, was born in june 2002 from the need to play an old school hc that should has come from the 80’s sounds, the idea of singing in their mother tongue surely reminds many italian popular bands like Indigesti or Negazione and enables them to have a more direct and immediate approach to express ideas, sensations and feelings, that’s the reason of their decision to keep the italian language also for the name of the band: Ingegno, Ingenuity, Wit in english.
Musically they’re not too far removed from hardcore bands such as Strife, Raised Fist, Chain Of Strength and the italian band of 90’s Sottopressione, who captured a sound that was fast, energetic and powerful. After a series of shows everywhere in their country the band recorded its first full length which was released from Hurry Up! Records in september 2004. During these four years the band had constant line up changes, many guitarists came and went away but they were able to regroup every time, they toured Europe many times and had the chance to play in the U.S. and Brazil as well. They also had the pleasure to meet and play with great bands of the european and world hc scene like Pointing Finger, Confronto, Nueva Etica, Hold x True, Good Clean Fun, Misconduct, Nothing Gold Can Stay, Ensign, Facedown In Shit and many others.
With the new mini cd, “Il Visionario” (The Visionary), Ingegno has taken their sound to the next level, the band’s intensity and conviction is ultimately translated across 6 tracks of fast, heartfelt and unobvious hardcore. The cd also includes a ghost track from their beginning and a very accurate video track of one of their intense live set. Don’t miss out.

São seis faixas, e talvez seja esse seu único defeito, pois é o típico cd que deixa aquele gostinho de “quero mais”. Tem ainda uma faixa multimídia com um vídeo bem bacana da banda ao vivo, o que dá uma ótima idéia da vibe presente nos shows do Ingegno. A julgar por esse lançamento, os próximos capítulos da história desses italianos serão imperdíveis. Grata surpresa.
